Surge Protector Installation in Calumet

Whole House Surge Protection for Calumet homes and businesses

Electrical systems in the Upper Peninsula work harder than most. In Calumet and across Houghton County, long heating seasons mean furnaces, boilers, heat tape and block heaters run for months, and storms off the Great Lakes can take power down without warning. When we carry out whole house surge protection here, we size and protect every circuit with those demands in mind.

Where surges come from

Lightning gets the blame, but most surges are smaller and far more frequent. They occur when utility power is restored after an outage, when grid equipment switches and when large motors in your own home cycle on and off. Each one wears a little at electronics. Thunderstorms, ice and wind make outages and restorations a regular event across Michigan, which is why panel-mounted protection is worth having in Calumet.
