Your local choice for solar electrical work in Sheridan, MI

Sheridan is in Montcalm County in West Michigan, where lake-effect snow off Lake Michigan and humid summers both take a toll on electrical equipment. The area has everything from century-old farmhouses to fast-growing subdivisions, and solar electrical work can look a little different in each. We start by learning what your building has now.

The electrical side of going solar

Every solar system connects to your home at the electrical panel, and that is where many projects hit a snag. The size of the panel's bus limits how much solar can be connected, so an older or full panel may need upgrading or a different connection method. Your utility also has its own interconnection requirements. We sort out those details for Sheridan homeowners so the system passes inspection and receives permission to operate without delays.

Questions about solar electrical work in Sheridan

Do I need a panel upgrade for solar?

Sometimes. It depends on your panel's bus rating and main breaker size. We check and explain the options.

Can you connect a system someone else installed?

Yes. We complete electrical hookups for installer-supplied and owner-supplied systems.

Does solar work during an outage?

Only with battery storage or a special inverter. Standard grid-tied systems shut down when the grid is off.

Does solar make sense in Sheridan, Michigan?

Solar produces well in Michigan from spring through fall, with lower output in winter. An installer's production estimate for your roof will give you real numbers.
