Solar Electrician for Mount Pleasant homes and businesses

Mid-Michigan is served mainly by Consumers Energy, along with DTE Energy, the Lansing Board of Water and Light and a number of municipal utilities. Whichever one supplies your address in Mount Pleasant, we know the requirements for service work, which keeps solar electrical work in Isabella County straightforward.

The electrical side of going solar

Every solar system connects to your home at the electrical panel, and that is where many projects hit a snag. The size of the panel's bus limits how much solar can be connected, so an older or full panel may need upgrading or a different connection method. Your utility also has its own interconnection requirements. We sort out those details for Mount Pleasant homeowners so the system passes inspection and receives permission to operate without delays.

Questions about solar electrical work in Mount Pleasant

Do I need a panel upgrade for solar?

Sometimes. It depends on your panel's bus rating and main breaker size. We check and explain the options.

Can you connect a system someone else installed?

Yes. We complete electrical hookups for installer-supplied and owner-supplied systems.

Does solar work during an outage?

Only with battery storage or a special inverter. Standard grid-tied systems shut down when the grid is off.

Does solar make sense in Mount Pleasant, Michigan?

Solar produces well in Michigan from spring through fall, with lower output in winter. An installer's production estimate for your roof will give you real numbers.
