Solar Electrician for Bay City homes and businesses

Mid-Michigan gets its share of ice storms and summer thunderstorms, and both lead to outages and surges. In Bay City and across Bay County, we see the results in damaged electronics and tired breakers. That experience informs how we approach solar electrical work here.

We provide solar electrical work throughout Bay City, including Center Avenue Historic District, Downtown, the South End and the West Side.

The electrical side of going solar

Every solar system connects to your home at the electrical panel, and that is where many projects hit a snag. The size of the panel's bus limits how much solar can be connected, so an older or full panel may need upgrading or a different connection method. Your utility also has its own interconnection requirements. We sort out those details for Bay City homeowners so the system passes inspection and receives permission to operate without delays.

Questions about solar electrical work in Bay City

Do I need a panel upgrade for solar?

Sometimes. It depends on your panel's bus rating and main breaker size. We check and explain the options.

Can you connect a system someone else installed?

Yes. We complete electrical hookups for installer-supplied and owner-supplied systems.

Does solar work during an outage?

Only with battery storage or a special inverter. Standard grid-tied systems shut down when the grid is off.

Does solar make sense in Bay City, Michigan?

Solar produces well in Michigan from spring through fall, with lower output in winter. An installer's production estimate for your roof will give you real numbers.
