LED Recessed Lighting Installation in Westphalia

Recessed lighting installation in Westphalia: local conditions matter

Mid-Michigan gets its share of ice storms and summer thunderstorms, and both lead to outages and surges. In Westphalia and across Clinton County, we see the results in damaged electronics and tired breakers. That experience informs how we approach recessed lighting installation here.

Getting recessed lighting right

The difference between a good recessed lighting job and a poor one is layout. Too few lights leave scallops and shadows. Too many make a ceiling look like an airport runway. As a starting point we space fixtures at about half the ceiling height, then adjust for cabinets, beams and seating. In Westphalia homes with attics above, we use airtight fixtures so heated air is not lost through the ceiling in winter.
